Sunflower prices continue to rise
According to European Commission data, the price of sunflower seeds (FOB) in Bordeaux, France, increased from $683/ton to $699/ton between February 5 and 26, and between $723–727/ton between March 5 and 19. In Ukraine, oilseeds were traded at a price level of $475–495/ton in February. The price of the crop was $485/ton between March 5 and 19.

According to AKI PÁIR data, processors and traders bought high oleic sunflower seeds (HO) for HUF 243.4 thousand/ton (+67 percent), and high oil content (LO) for HUF 224.7 thousand/ton (+65 percent) in the second week of March. The producer price of industrial sunflower seeds (including high oleic sunflower seeds) excluding VAT and transport costs was on average 234.3 thousand forints/ton (+68 percent).
