Pistachios to be grown in Hungary?
More and more signs indicate that pistachio cultivation is no longer just for Mediterranean countries and regions.

Pistachio cultivation in Hungary is still only experimental

Although cultivation is currently only at an experimental stage in Hungary – 5kg was harvested in 2022 – experts believe: if the climate continues to moderate and the growing season lengthens, the crop could become more widely established in Hungary. Global demand is growing dynamically, but at the same time the biggest exporters such as the US are struggling with water shortages and declining yields.
