Euromonitor has identified five digital consumer trends emerging in 2024.
1. Intuitive e-commerce: the growing influence of digital channels on consumers is forcing companies to improve the online experience they offer.
2. TikTok economy: masses of digital consumers are connecting to TikTok and the Douyin video sharing platform. Some of the viral trends that are most likely to boost brand sales are created organically on these platforms.
3. Outsmart online: with growing macroeconomic uncertainty and increasing digitalisation, more and more consumers are turning to online platforms.
4. Recommerce 2.0: thanks to younger consumers who are environmentally conscious, thrifty and technology-savvy, recommerce is booming worldwide. More and more brands and retailers are recognising the potential of this market, in terms of both sustainability and new revenue streams.
5. Revamped returns: consumers have long wanted hassle-free product return, but meeting this demand hasn’t been without its challenges. //
