National survey: this is why Hungarians would quit their jobs
In the latest research by Profession.hu, the well-being of the adult population was examined across the country, focusing specifically on well-being at work and related employee expectations and motivations.
According to research developed by the WHO, which also uses a measurement method based on the respondents’ self-assessment, two-thirds of Hungarians felt happy and cheerful during the summer, and every second person could say that their everyday life was full of interesting things. The general mood of adults can be fundamentally determined by well-being at work, since a significant part of the time spent awake is spent at work. In the job portal’s survey, it examined the factors that must be fulfilled in order for them to be happy at their workplace and perform their tasks with pleasure.
Almost everyone is motivated by salary, but the desired salary is rarely achieved
According to Hungarian employees, the main feature of a good workplace is that it provides employees with an adequate salary – this is what 79 percent of 18-65-year-olds think so; in addition, non-salary benefits are now less important to about 43 percent of the respondents. In recent years, the level of salary has determined the motivations for finding and choosing a job in Hungary, ahead of all other aspects in the order of importance.
Despite the fact that the most common expectation is a good salary, according to their own assessment, only a third (35%) of the workers give this at their current workplace, and the majority are not completely satisfied with their salary. The other, less frequently considered financial need is realized for every fourth employee: 23 percent of them receive fringe benefits.
