KSH: industrial production stagnated in March
In March 2025, the volume of industrial production remained at the same level as the same month of the previous year, while adjusted for working day effects, it fell by 5.4 percent from a year earlier – the Central Statistical Office (KSH) reported on Thursday, based on its first estimate.
The significant difference compared to the raw data is caused by the fact that there were two more working days in this month than in March 2024 – the report added.
Based on seasonally and working day adjusted data, industrial output was 0.1 percent higher than in February.
The volume of production decreased in most of the manufacturing sub-sectors compared to the same month of the previous year. Of the sub-sectors with the largest weight, vehicle manufacturing, computer, electronic and optical product manufacturing, and food, beverage and tobacco product manufacturing expanded compared to a year earlier, while the production of electrical equipment declined.
Industrial production in the first three months of the year was 4.4 percent lower than in the same period in 2024.
