The consumer surveys conducted in connection with the ‘Most successful promotion of the year’ competition have revealed that nearly 2/3 of shoppers are actively searching for promotions, but they tend to buy those brands and products in promotion that they already like. Price discounts and 2 for the price of 1 offers are the most popular. Shoppers don’t really switch stores for the sake of promotional offers. Innovative solutions typically don’t make a promotion more successful. The most popular offers are those that target children and the ones that concern products shoppers wanted to buy anyway. When prizes are involved, shoppers are most motivated by instant gifts and advantages. //
