The processing sales price of chicken thighs is 11 percent higher than a year earlier
According to AKI PÁIR data, the live weight producer price of slaughter chickens in Hungary rose by 25.2 percent to HUF 500.78/kilogram, and that of slaughter turkeys by 30.8 percent to HUF 691.39/kilogram in the first thirty-six weeks of 2023 compared to the same period of 2022.

According to data from the European Commission, the EU average price of whole chicken in the first thirty-six weeks of 2023 was 265.4 euros/100 kilograms, which represents a 6 percent increase compared to the previous year. The Hungarian price rose by 23.7 percent to HUF 970/kilogram in the same comparison. According to AKI PÁIR data, the processing sales price of chicken breast fillets increased by 10 percent to HUF 1,962/kilogram, bone-in chicken breast by 1.7 percent to HUF 1,328/kilogram, the price of chicken breast (total) by 10 percent to HUF 1,934/kilogram, and chicken thighs by 11.5 percent to HUF 910/kilogram increased to HUF .6/kg in the first thirty-six weeks of 2023 compared to the same period in 2022.
